I joined My First Skool in 2010 and had the opportunity in setting up three brand new MFS centres. These rare learning experiences gave me new chances in interacting with different stakeholders in creating quality preschool centres for young children. In January 2015, I was appointed as the Principal of My First Skool at Sembawang Shopping Centre, and also graduated with a Masters in Education from NIE in 2016.
Been in the Early Childhood Education (ECE) industry for more than 16 years, I see the importance of Professional Development for Educators as constantly keeping up to trends and issues in ECE. It also important for one to stay on top in planning and implementing innovative teaching pedagogy and building cohesive partnership with the parents and community partners.
Having achieved SPARK certification in 2017, my team and I have been committed in upholding the quality standard. We have been awarded for Innovation Guidance Grant and Practitioner Grant for the past 4 years and this aid in enhancing the teachers & competencies in their innovative teaching pedagogy.
I strongly believe that every child is like a seedling that needs a safe and supportive environment to learn and grow. Every child is unique and learn at their own pace and style. Educators, parents and community need to work together to provide opportunities and authentic learning experiences to develop the child’s talents and strengths so as to fulfil the promise of each child.
