This marks the 10th year of my journey in My First Skool upon my graduation with Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. Joining My First Skool allowed me to gain experience to collaborate with families and community such as NLB and HPB as children’s learning and development are strongly influenced by their relationships with family members and the community.

Even though my journey in My First Skool at Blk 602 Choa Chu Kang has only begun, I feel a sense of fulfilment with the opportunity to stretch myself by leading a team of 40 staff and 200 children from 0-6 years old. By leading this team, I am also pleased to be able to collaborate with National Gallery Singapore and Active SG, which provides resources and trainings to enhance teacher’s skills in supporting children’s holistic development.

I strongly believe that as a leader, seeing the strengths of every individual is essential. Regardless of the children or the staff, empowering these individuals will allow them to develop to their fullest potential. As quoted by Maxwell, “Leaders become great, not because of their power, but because of their ability to empower others.”
