I have been in the early childhood education for 16 years ago, and over the last 9 years, I worked with my team of marvellous teachers to raise the quality of early childhood education at MFS. Together we have achieved the Singapore Preschool Accreditation Framework (SPARK) accreditation in 2013, and recertification in 2016 and 2019 respectively.
With 110 young children in our care and responsibility, our work has been challenging yet enriching. With the belief that active learning takes place in the classroom and beyond, we actively plan and carry out various in-class, outdoor activities and projects for our children and their families. We also believe in strong partnerships with families, and communities and celebrating children’s success together.
Today, we have a very active Parent Volunteer Group, with parents who are actively involved in our centre’s garden, monthly Reading Club and various activities. We have also embarked on the MFS Technology Lighthouse project since 2017. Through this project, we have made many efforts to build the capacity of teachers in creating tech-infused learning for our children, and they enjoyed these lessons very much and learned much about the iPad and applications we used. Annually, as we watch our K2 graduands move on to their next phase of life, we feel a great sense of pride and achievements.
