I joined My First Skool in 2021 with more than 10 years of experience in mentoring teachers and leading pre-school centres.

Noting that the initial years of a child’s life are critical, it determines how he or she thrives and lays the foundation for learning and holistic development. With a fervent belief and passion to help children optimise their potential, I find great pleasure in being part of the early childhood sector to grow and nurture children who are our future leaders.

In my years of leadership, I am grateful to have led my team in participating in various community projects. From ECDA initiatives, such as Start Small Dream Big and Families For Life, to help children learn moral values and inculcate positive behaviours, we also partnered with the National Gallery of Singapore to deepen our inquiry for arts and aesthetics appreciation. In 2023, my team and our children had the opportunity to put together an art exhibition in the museum for families and public viewing.

We also collaborated with Primary School and National Library Board to partake in a special project, COPE JINGLES, where children gave inputs to a team of composers to raise awareness for disasters happening in the world. Embracing the love for learning, we hope to bring the community together and make learning meaningful and joyful for our children. These experiences have provided us with invaluable lessons to support our individual growth.

As the African proverb says, “it takes a village to raise a child”. I am most convinced to ensure that our children are given opportunities to learn from various platforms, community partners and stakeholders, including parents.
