I joined My First Skool at Blk 419 Bedok North in July 2019. Prior to MFS, I attained Bachelor of Arts (with Honours) in Early Childhood Care and Education conferred by University of Warwick and entered the early childhood sector since 1988.
A quote from Vygotsky: “The true direction of the development of thinking is not from the individual to the social, but from the social to the individual.” Children who are self-regulated with problem solving abilities, inquiry mind and team work are more likely to succeed. I work with my team of dedicated teachers to nurture and support children in acquiring these skills which are the foundation for lifelong learning. Our society is like a stage, there will be movers, shakers and others to support them. It’s my wish that our children will grow up to be happy and successful in life regardless of the role they play.
I am a firm believer and strong advocate for close collaboration between parents and teachers. Trust is a simple word yet profound in action. Open and sensitive communication is the basis to creating a climate of mutual respect and trust.
Positive adult relationship will be mirrored in children’s behaviour and provide the foundation for the basic needs of security and confidence in them. While parents and teachers are the main caregivers in their growing years, both must work together in appreciating and supporting each other so that children can reap the benefits through their growing years.
I aspire to partner our parents and teachers, devote my lifelong learning towards providing our children with a safe, happy and meaningful learning environment.
