Armed with a strong affinity with children, and wanting to make a difference in their lives, I took a bold step to leave the corporate world to join the early childhood sector in 2008. I joined My First Skool at Blk 219 Serangoon in 2010 and have committed myself to provide an inspiring learning experience to our 105 children aged 2 months to 6 years old.

In 2013, we achieved SPARK certification and in 2016, we attained SPARK recertification, with strong affirmation in the quality of our Teaching & Learning practices at the centre.

My team and I believe in developing children not as individuals, but as a community. The Centre boasts of strong Parent and Community Partnership. With the formation of our Parent Support Group 5 years ago, we are able to foster a closer network between the Centre, families and communities.

The Centre has adopted several initiatives such as The Little Artiste On Stage, exposing children to Creative Drama; the Apple Lighthouse project which allows children to infuse technology into their learning and our Intergenerational Programme which allows meaningful interactions between the seniors and our children on a regular basis. Last year, we adopted the Mimamoru Philosophy in the centre, as we believe in creating a natural environment for children to develop.

Having established strong partnership with our supportive parents, we hope to continue to create different learning experiences with the children.
