My philosophy as an educator is to nurture happy children, collaborate with happy teachers and partner happy families in creating knowledge together. From a trainee teacher to a principal, this is my ninth year as an early childhood educator in My First Skool. After obtaining my Diploma in Early Childhood Teaching, I continued to further my studies in Advanced Diploma in Leadership, as well as Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood.
At my centre, we believe that children’s growth and development are influenced by their social environments. With the notion that every parent is their child’s first teacher, we aim to connect with all our parents, to champion the idea of strong partnership between home and school. Likewise, we endeavour to inculcate the mindset of “Families for Life”, by bringing families and communities together through events and celebrations to nurture children of the future generation.
We also strive to be a role model as we advocate for sustainable practices, guiding our children to learn about the world they live in through living sustainably. Our children embark on thoughtfully planned activities to spread awareness of sustainable practices to families and the community. No one is too small to start something big, collectively, we can all do our part to achieve the 2030 Unicef Sustainable Development Goals.
In this cohesive community where we continue to nurture the next generation of active curious learners, I am excited for the growth and learning opportunities in the early childhood sector. And together, as we embrace the different perspectives and strengths of each of us, we can provide quality learning experiences for every child in our neighbourhood.
