Blk 19 Jalan Sultan

My career in Early Childhood began in 2000 when I started teaching children as young as two years old and saw them through to six years old. I was promoted to a Lead Teacher in 2010 and received the MCYS Teaching Award in 2011. At present, I am the principal of My First Skool at Blk 19 and Blk 4, Jalan Sultan Centre. The centre has achieved the SPARK Certification (with Commendation) in 2017.

I hold a Diploma in Preschool Education Leadership (DPL) and a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education (focus on literacy) in 2013. I believe that young children learn primarily through social interactions with adults and other children in their environment. I believe that children’s potential to learn and grow is maximised when teachers provide support, coaching and scaffolding in their learning.

I am committed and aimed to be a dependable mentor for the young teachers joining the childcare industry to impact children’s learning positively. Regular communication with parents is something I have always believed in and I encourage teachers and parents to engage in open dialogue concerning the development of children.

My team and I hope to give our children the best preschool moments and memories. I look forward executing great initiatives such as the Start Small Dream Big project, Innovation Guidance Project, Practitioner Inquiry and Community Partnerships with the National Library Board, SMOU. St. Andrew Senior Care and Stamford Primary School to make our children’s preschool journey a diverse and rich one.
