Having contributed to the early childhood sector for the past 12.5 years has taught me that we have so much more to learn from children. I’ve always perceived children as naturally capable and inquisitive individuals, who with adequate support in a safe and nurturing environment, are able to develop a love for lifelong learning.
When planning and crafting learning experiences, it is important to always have the image of the child in mind. With this underlying principle, learning experiences are carefully planned and designed for children to learn skills and develop holistically through a play based approach.
As a leader of my centre, I believe in engendering collaborative and shared leadership, creating roles and opportunities for each member of the school community to participate, have ownership and autonomy to thrive and succeed. Therefore, by introducing and enhancing 21st century skill competencies, and with intentional use of information, media and technology, we endeavor to inculcate these important life skills and evergreen values in young children.
As early childhood educators, we continually invest ourselves in the work we do as we believe that everything we do makes a difference in the lives of young children and their families. Together with my wonderful team at My First Skool at Blk 18A Holland Drive, my team and I will continually support families in the development and growth of their children, and to celebrate their achievements in each milestone.
