I believe that every child is unique hence I advocate to provide children with equal opportunities to learn despite their differences. Being in the Early Childhood sector for more than 11 years, it has deepened my knowledge and uplifted my skills as an EC professional. I have grown to understand and embrace individual’s holistic development and their differing needs.
Upholding positive parent-teacher partnerships in my daily exchanges, this greatly supports my belief which eventually contributes to children’s quality learning in school. As a centre leader at My First Skool, I aspire to grow my team professionally and work towards providing quality learning experiences for our children.
Today, my centre has fostered strong community partnership by reaching out to community partners such as the Residents Committee for the children and teachers to plant their own plants in the community garden. This allows us to grow, nurture, care and harvest our plants which we distribute to neighbours. We also work alongside with The Salvation Army Peacehaven Bedok daycare centre to plan activities for our children to interact meaningfully with their seniors.
In 2013, I am honoured to be nominated and won the organisation’s CEO Award for exemplary individual performance and ECDA Outstanding Teacher Award. I am thankful to be given the opportunity to be in the first cohort of ECDA’s Professional Development Programme (PDPT) in 2016.
