I have contributed to the early childhood sector for some 30 years now, having risen through the rank and file to be appointed as one of the Executive Principals in the My First Skool network today.

Prior to leading the team in My First Skool at Alkaff Oasis, I had spent many fulfilling years as a Principal in two other My First Skool centres, at Beach Road and Toa Payoh Lorong 4 respectively.  I led my team in achieving SPARK (Commendation) certification in 2015, 2019 and 2022. I was also nominated and shortlisted as one of the finalists for ECDA  Early Childhood Leader Award in 2016.

I believe that every child has the potential to bring something unique and special to the world. Each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring and stimulating environment to grow in a holistic manner. I believe children learn effectively through direct, hands-on experiences with people, objects, events, and ideas, which is why I believe that children should learn through play.

Leadership is about vision and influence. They can influence the behaviour of others for the purpose of achieving a goal. There is a proverb saying , ‘Don’t talk if you can’t walk the walk’. As the leader of this Centre, I will lead my team being a strong role-model to my team of teachers and support staff so that they can in turn, give their best to the young children we care for. 

My team and I will strive with our best abilities to provide good quality care and education for children with strong trusting relationships and partnerships with parents.
