Being in the Early Childhood sector for the past 13 years, it has been a progressive learning journey in both curriculum and centre operations. Holding a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College, I am dedicated in helping staffs’ improve their teaching and learning skills in order to reach centre’s strategic goals.
For the past 5 years as a Centre Leader in My First Skool, I believe that great leaders are continuous learners. I advocate lifelong learning and am often energized by finding out strategies in raising the quality of teaching and learning among educators. It is this drive for constant learning that also helps me promote innovation on the ground level.
Our centre has been actively participating distinctive projects such as My Preschool Shines, which gives the opportunity for children and teachers to work on keeping the community green and clean.
We have achieved the first place in My Preschool Shines competition by SWCDC for two consecutive years. We are also piloting ‘Abecedarian’ approach that focuses on integrating basic principles of human learning and development into a fun, affordable, and effective approach to early childhood education. We strongly believe in establishing strong relationship with families and community partners. This aim to fort our strong believe that it takes a village to raise a child. As a mother of two, I advocate the joy for learning.
Having happy children indicate positive environment with the right educators in it, and that has been my biggest motivation to continuously mentor my teachers in raising the quality of teaching and learning.
