It takes a village to raise a child. I strongly believe in this saying as the school, family and community must work hand in hand to grow a child to his full potential. I have been in the Early Childhood industry since 2006, spending the past 10 years with NTUC First Campus. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and currently pursuing ECDA’s Professional Development Programme (PDP) Leadership. I have grown immensely from the ground as a teacher to a Principal now in My First Skool, leading the team at Blk 312C Sumang Link.
The centre is strategically located next to Punggol Waterway Park and the centre often taps on the natural surroundings to expand children’s learning. I believe in the importance of learning through play and the rich learning it provides. Providing children with opportunities of learning through play develops them holistically in all developmental domains.
Working closely with the community, the centre has an established partnership with National Gallery Singapore and various partners such as Punggol Cove Primary School, Health Promotion Board, Bright Hill Evergreen Home, National Library Board and Punggol Parc Vista RC. These mutually beneficial partnerships with the community provides children with beyond classroom experiences and enrich their learning further.
By fostering a collaborative and nurturing learning environment, I hold an utmost importance in parent partnership and welcome their active involvement with the centre. Together with my team of dedicated staff, I look forward to nurture and grow each child to become happy, confident and resilient individuals.
