Blk 509B Yishun

Having graduated with a Diploma in Early Childhood Education from Ngee Ann Polytechnic and a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Educational Studies and Leadership from Wheelock College Singapore, I joined My First Skool as a teacher in 2011.

In the past 8 years, I have grown to become a senior teacher, a Deputy Centre Lead and am leading a centre at Blk 509B Yishun Ave 4 (YC5) since 2017. Currently we are serving 136 children and 10 infants.

In our efforts to uphold the quality standards of the centre, my TEAM and I have participated in the SPARK accreditation assessment in May 2019. We have also participated in projects such as ECDA’s Start Small Dream Big and Innovation Guidance grants since 2018.

As a strong believer of Bronfenbrenner’s ecological systems theory, I want to involve the adults and community who has influence over the children’s life to work and learn together and from each other. As such we are building on our collaboration with parents through workshops, field trips, take home activities and festive celebrations. We also have close partnerships with community partners like All Saints Home, Xishan Primary school and the Health Promotion Board. MFS-YC5 is one of fifteen My First Skool centres who is privileged to be an Apple Technology Lighthouse centre where we get to incorporate technology into children’s learning.

My teachers and I remain committed to growing our children and supporting their families.
