I joined My First Skool at Blk 101 Rivervale Walk in 2012 bringing with me 18 years of experience in the early childhood education. Having led the centre to achieve the SPARK Certification since 2013, this is an endorsement of the centre’s continuous effort to provide quality care and programme. The centre was awarded several innovation grants to embark on projects to enhance teachers’ competencies and raise the bar to facilitate learning in and out of the classroom environment.
The centre is committed to nurturing the growth of all 112 children to be competent learners who are confident and have an eagerness to learn. Given that the best education does not happen at a desk, but rather engaged in everyday living hands on, exploring, in active relationship with life, children learn and develop from every experience, relationship formed, and activities that they are exposed to. Learning and development is an on-going process where children grow and continue to seek, explore and discover about themselves and the world around them.
Being awarded the NTUC First Campus CEO Award for Exemplary Parent Partnership for Team category in 2018, the centre believes in partnering parents in the development of the children. Parents are the child’s first and best teachers. Together with a positive parent-school partnership as well as the surrounding community, adults are key drivers in encouraging children to be active and curious. We endeavour for a peace of mind in working families as we build and maintain trusting and positive relationships with children and their families.
