My Early Childhood journey with My First Skool began in 2012. Since then, I have never looked back because this is where I found my passion to care and work with young children. From an Assistant Teacher to a Centre Leader today,  I am thankful for the opportunities that were given for me to learn and hone my skills as an Early Childhood practitioner.

In 2018, I was honoured to be a recipient of ECDA Outstanding Early Childhood Teacher award. I also co-lead my centres to attained SPARK (Commendation) accreditation during my role as Deputy Centre Lead in 2017 and 2021. These experiences have helped me to grow professionally and equipped me with skills to lead early childhood educators in providing quality learning experiences for our children.

I believe that educators have the power to harness each child’s individual strengths and learning styles in helping them develop positive learning attitudes, so they will emerge as confident and self-motivated learners. With patience and empathy, I constantly make efforts to develop educators professionally and work closely with them through “heart” work.

Similarly, I am committed to build trusting relationships with families as they play an important role in their child’s life. Together with my fellow educators, we seek to build respectful, responsive and reciprocal partnerships between families, schools and the community. 

Having obtained a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Studies, I continue to learn and grow with my team professionally every day so that we can provide our children with a safe and secure environment to develop their fullest potential.

I take pride in collaborating closely with children, families, and professionals in the Early Childhood sector since 2014. My journey began as a teacher at My First Skool, where I embraced numerous learning opportunities. Growing in confidence, I assumed the role of Deputy Centre Lead in 2018 and now proudly serve as a Centre Leader.

I value learning as an essential aspect of life and resonate with this quote, “Never stop learning, because life never stops teaching.” Armed with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and Leadership and a Master of Education (Early Childhood), I believe that providing optimal early years learning experiences equips children with unique life skills and core values, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to the community.

In alignment with these convictions, my team and I received the 2017 ECDA Early Childhood Innovation (Commendation) award for our project, “I feel, I show, I express,” promoting socio-emotional expressions through dramatization. The subsequent year, I was honored to be a finalist for the 2018 ECDA Outstanding Early Childhood Teacher award.

These experiences have enriched my professional practices, motivating me to guide teachers as reflective practitioners capable of creating quality learning environments and fostering close partnerships with families. Together, we aim to nurture happy and engaged children.
