I graduated with a Bachelor of Education in 2022 and have been working in the Early Childhood sector for the last 10 years. I started out as a teacher and I believe that every child is unique in their own ways, and that every child will learn in different ways through play. Throughout my years as a teacher, I have seen how the play-based approach has nurtured children under my care.
As a centre leader, I encourage my team to keep abreast of new approaches and skills in the Early Childhood sector so that we can plan engaging lessons for every child under our care; lessons that encourage them to learn while playing. I believe that my team and I will continue to nurture young learners to be confident and curious in this big big world!
Centre partnerships and community collaborations with stakeholders such as National Museum of Singapore and NParks played an important role in children’s learning. Activities and lessons planned with our partners provide authentic situations and environments for children to explore and learn meaningfully.
‘It takes a village to raise a child’ is a proverb with African roots. This is something that I strongly believe in. Thus, my team and I will actively engage parents and the communities in supporting our children’s learning journey.
